Before you arrive
If you've never had professional photos taken before, it's completely normal to feel a little nervous. We hear it all the time, but we promise there's nothing to stress about. Our goal is to make your session feel relaxed, fun, and effortless from the moment you arrive.
We recommend arriving about 10 minutes early so you have plenty of time to park, make your way to the beach, and settle in without feeling rushed. If you're bringing young children, don't worry if they have a little sand on their feet or don't immediately want to smile. Some of the sweetest moments happen when everyone simply enjoys being together.
Choosing the perfect location
Every beach has it's own personality, which is why we carefully recommend locations based on the look and experience you're hoping for. Whether your session takes place in Panama City Beach, 30A, Rosemary Beach, Inlet Beach, or Destin, we'll help choose a location that offers beautiful scenery, soft lighting, and plenty of space to create timeless images.
Our goal is to keep the focus on you, not crowded beaches or distracting backgrounds. That's why we photograph at curated locations we've come to know and love over the years.
Why we schedule at sunrise/sunset
One of the most important parts of creating beautiful beach photos is the lighting. That's why nearly all of our sessions are scheduled during the hour leading up to sunrise/sunset.
Golden hour provides soft, flattering light that brings out natural skin tones and create those warm coastal colors you see throughout our portfolio. While midday sun often causes harsh shadows and squinting, sunrise/sunset allows everyone to relax and simply enjoy the experience while we capture genuine moments.
What to Wear
Choosing outfits doesn't have to be overwhelming. We always recommend clothing that feels comfortable, timeless, and true to your family's style. Neutral tones, soft colors, linen fabrics, and flowy dresses photograph beautifully against the beach and help keep the focus on the people in the images rather than the clothing.
Instead of matching exactly, try coordinating colors that complement one another. This creates a more natural, elevated look while still allowing everyone's personality to shine through. You don't need to know how to pose
One of the first things clients tell us is, "We're awkward in front of the camera".
The truth is, almost everyone feels that way.
You don't have to know where to stand, what to do with your hands, or how to smile. That's our job. Throughout your session, we'll gently guide you with natural prompts and simple direction so nothing feels forced or uncomfortable. Before long, you'll stop thinking about the camera altogether and simply enjoy spending time together.
Those authentic moments are often the ones that become favorites.

Families with young children
If you're bringing little ones, let us take a little pressure off your shoulders.
Children don't need to sit perfectly still or smile at the camera the entire session. We expect them to explore, laugh, play, and sometimes even need a break. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen during those in between moments when your family is simply interacting naturally.
Rather than forcing poses, we'll meet your child where they are and create an experience that's enjoyable for everyone involved. The less pressure there is to be perfect, the more genuine your gallery will feel.
During your session
Your session will flow naturally from one moment to the next. We'll capture a combination lightly posed portraits and candid interactions while making small adjustments along the way. We'll photograph everyone together, individual family members, couples, siblings, and all of those in between moments that often become the most treasured memories.
The goal isn't to rush through a checklist of poses. It's to create a gallery that tells your story in a way that feels authentic to you.
Don't worry about the weather
Florida weather can be unpredictable, but cloudy skies aren't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, light cloud cover often creates some of the softest, most beautiful lighting for portraits.
If severe weather is expected, we'll stay in communication leading up to your session and work together to determine the best plan. Our priority is always making sure you have the best possible experience while keeping everyone safe.
After your session
Once your session is over, the excitement isn't.
Every image is individually hand edited to reflect the bright, timeless style you see throughout our work. Within 7 to 10 days, you'll receive an online gallery where you can easily view, download, share, and order professionally quality prints.
Your gallery is designed to be simple, convenient, and something you'll enjoy revisiting for years to come.
our biggest advice
Try not to spend your session chasing the "perfect" photo.
The wind might blow your hair. Your toddler might want to chase birds instead of looking at the camera. Someone will probably laugh when they weren't supposed to.
Those are often the moments you'll cherish the most.
Years from now, you won't remember whether every strand of hair stayed in place. You'll remember how it felt to stand barefoot in the sand with the people you love.
Our job is simply to preserve those moments for you. We can't wait to tell your story!
